Survey Results - DJI Import Restrictions

The ongoing U.S. Customs restrictions on DJI aircraft imports have significantly disrupted supply chains, prompting RMUS to seek solutions alongside congressional representatives. To support advocacy efforts, RMUS conducted a survey to assess the impact on drone programs. Here is a summary of the survey. We hope this is helpful to you in future drone purchasing decisions.

Awareness & Impact: Nearly all respondents were aware of the import restrictions, with the majority confirming that their programs had been affected.

Legislative Influence: 
Many participants reported that current or pending legislation has influenced their purchasing decisions.

Impact Ratings: 
On a scale of 1 to 10, respondents rated the impact of DJI import issues at an average of 8-10, indicating a severe effect on procurement. Similarly, local, state, and federal regulations have also had a notable influence on purchasing decisions.

Primary Drone Brands: 
While DJI remains the most widely used brand, some respondents indicated using alternatives like Autel, Skydio, and other brands to mitigate supply issues.
